Bonsiour Mon amie 🙂

Welcome to the month of April, spring time & a new quarter of the year, hopefully we are all starting to get ishhh done on our plans for the year. Mine isn’t going as well or rather as planned but I guess the best things in life aren’t planned. Okay so back to today’s style post, a new addition to the #Weareafricans series featuring Nigerian brand TheKatieWangCompany. If you missed out on the last two, it’s never too late to catch up just click 1 and 2

Today’s post is all about how I styled “the Nina dress” it’s a simple straight dress with a peter pan collar which flatter your curves when the right fit is worn, it screams official and Friday mostly for Nigerians in the corporate world, Friday is known as Ankara day.

Let’s have a quick look on how I wore my Nina dress:

Dress: @TheKatieWangCompany

Bag: My mother’s closet (Mothers low-key have the best old ishhh)

Shoe: Zara

You can keep it simple and stylish like me, decided to wear my Zara black strap court shoe which I got a while back actually wrote up a post on why I love it and of course my mini handbag, might be mini but it makes a whole lot of difference to this fit just close your eyes an imagine this shot with no handbag just me with my hand on my waist trynna feel like some model/beauty queen Lol.

Long story short: accessorizing no matter how little can boost your fit from 0-100.

Went for loop earrings to add a little more fun to the outfit and that’s just an excuse to rock my loops cause I love them perfect gold loops, I’ve had them for over a year and it was just 500NGN. Anytime I wear it people keep asking where I got it from(shhh that’s my little secret).

These days I been loving my rings tbh I need more tiny rings  to fill up the rest of my fingers

If you decide to use white mules, Nude court shoes, red or metallic shoes that’s fine they all fit nicely or you decide to cinch in your waist a little with them tiny belts feel free. Just make sure it screams ‘YOU’.

Rounding up this edition with a few of the reasons I Love KatieWang:

-First of all, the name “TheKatieWang” rings all forms of class when I hear it

-They are striving to maintain and push the relevance of Ankara prints across the globe starting from Nigeria of course

-They are affordable, I mean isn’t that all we look for affordable fashion with top notch quality? And they sure have that.

-Their styles are not complex or out of the ordinary. Simple cuts, everyday and essential outfits for work, church and casual outings.  We lack this in Nigeria these days everyone seems to leave out basic and strive so hard to create complex and over priced pieces.

-They keep their prints interesting, i.e. they make use of vibrant materials and this goes a long way cause best believe when a style is simple the material has to be banging.

-They care, they listen and incorporate your thoughts to make themselves better. So be free to message and order what you want and say what you are not really happy with.

Do have a lovely Friday and weekend ahead.

Stay tuned for the next Nigerian brand on my list

  1. I love the style of your dress,I live in the states so I unfortunately wouldn’t be able to purchase any but the company sounds great 🙂 It’s important to support local businesses as well.
