STYLE| CASUALLY OVERDRESSED?

Currently listening to Despacito – luis, Daddy yankee & Justin Beiber and I’m so in love with it.

Hello Fashionistas, hope we’ve had a lovely week? Well mine has been quite eventful I got a lot of free makeup at an event Yaay (Perks of where I work, we get invited to events like this :)).

Okay now down to today’s business talking all things sequence actually not really this post is more about dressing down that piece of clothing you’d only rock at night or to a really fancy event, That’s why I went with the Title “Casually Overdressed?”

My Piece of fashion item is “the Sequence Skirt” Tbh this is actually a boob tube dress but I would never wear it as a dress instead of it laying around hopeless and helpless in my closet I decided to put it to use (This should be a type of recycling yh?). Okay here’s how I wore mine :

A Look

Cropped sweatshirt: My brother’s oversized tee which I cropped (Very easy DIY, a pair of scissors would do the trick)

Sequence Skirt/Boobtube dress:

White Sneakers: NYSC (I need to get new white sneakers)

Scarf: Mum’s Closet (Probably older than me Lol)

Shades: DapMod (@Dapmod)

Red Lipstick: MAC Ruby woo (My ride or die lipstick)

How to Style an Over dressy piece of fashion item in your closet

Have you got that over dressy Top, Skirt or Dress filled with shimmer or sequence and you just thought to yourself how can I rock this during the day? Well this post right here is for you and I am just giving a few tips on how to achieve this:

-Always pair it with something more casual, hence my choice of a big slouchy cropped sweatshirt. It makes the whole look a tad laidback and that’s what we are aiming for.

–Layer it up. Layering has a way of making a look more casual and comfortable. You should try this out. If I decided to layer up my cropped sweatshirt with a pair of jeans would have been pretty nice too.

–Don’t wear heels, go for something more subtle but still makes that outfit pop. Why I opted for white sneakers.

-Accessorize less, don’t go for statement neckpieces or earrings keep it simple. Less is better sometimes trust me.
