An insiders guide to standing out during Lagos Fashion Week (LFDW)

Lagos Fashion week is well around the corner, and with it comes a lot of drama on what to wear and how to get the best out of it.

For the most part Fashion week comes with  all the craziness of street style spotting the chicest shoes to the most standout looks and I’m all for it, but how do you stand out amongst a large crowd of fashionistas, bloggers and influencers? Keep reading to find out

Today’s Insider? Blogger Babe/Digital marketer Nayonde *sorry guys that’s me just in case you were expecting someone different, sometimes it’s good to blow your own horn and show yourself some self love.

Anyways here are a few rules I came up with:

Go for Trends

Take this from an insider, trends have a way of captivating not just the eyes but the mind as well, nicely put you’re getting the attention you desire. What’s trending now?

*Bum bag *Plaid Jackets *Neon *Ugly Sneakers (think LV) *Snake Print *Cycling shorts *Polka Dots

 

Statement Shoes

Rule No.2: Asides the trend, a pair of statement shoes worn the right way would get you noticed. A statement shoe + trendy pair = more attention

Colored hair

This is pretty straightforward and understandable, cause under a normal circumstance if you spot anyone with a neon/colored hair you’d stop to take a second look, then why not at fashion week?

Layering done right

Complicated might be your thing? then this is quite easy for you and this goes best with the ‘avant-garde’ style don’t know what I am talking about? Here’s a link to the ‘FIND YOUR STYLE’ quiz posted earlier on my site.

Go Early or maybe not?

The earlier, the brighter, the less crowded, the easier it is to get spotted and featured on your favorite fashion blogs as long as you’ve paid attention to Steps 1-4

Going late? Then you better kill it !

Go with your Squad

Everyone loves the idea of “Squad goals” or “Friends that slay together” kinda vibe so if you and your coolest friends turn up at LFDW streets looking cool with your statement shoe, trendy outfits etc. Then you’d definitely get noticed.

Side Note: Your Hair is a vital part of your look, let your outfit flow with it.
